Studio Communications Manager
The role
Sharkmob is a growing game developer with studios in Covent Garden, London, and Sweden. Creativity, passion for craft, and innovation are hallmarks of our young company. 2.5 years into its founding, our London studio is working on an ambitious AAA title and has 75 developers.
We are now looking for Studio Communications Manager to help establish Sharkmob London’s presence in the UK. The work includes advising the London senior management and HR-team on internal and corporate communications topics as well as working closely on general Sharkmob topics with the rest of the Global Communications team that operates out of the Malmö office in Sweden.
Responsibilities
The Studio Communications Manager will be a part of a global communications team and will work together with the corporate communications department headquartered in Malmö, Sweden on internal and external communications activities. You will report to the Managing Director of our London Studio, James Dobrowski.
Working closely with our UK-based PR agency, you will drive the Sharkmob London profile in the UK and execute on external communications, public relations, and public affairs. Examples of this include organizing Sharkmob’s presence at industry events, managing relationships with industry partners, and identifying opportunities for Sharkmob and its employees to provide thought leadership. You will coordinate information and assets as per external parties’ requests and ensure that Sharkmob is best represented in any piece/event.
You will collaborate with HR, IT, Office, Production and Studio Management to oversee the roll-out of internal communications plans and events. This includes social events, charity events, surveys, new procedures, game releases, and internal conferences. You will proactively support the communications team with cases and examples from the Sharkmob London studio to highlight internally and externally.
Requirements
- Adaptable mindset: the ability to improvise, seize opportunities, and remain flexible in a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Established network within UK games, tech and media.
- Comfortable with being a spokesperson for the company in different forums (meetings, events, PR etc.)
- Able to coach and assist speakers and executives to ensure the best possible outcome of messaging and presentations.
- Demonstrated experience using a variety of modern communications work tools such as Adobe Suite, Atlassian, Microsoft 360, Zoom, Slack, Streaming set ups, etc.
- Excellent initiative and proactive attitude.
Experience
- Degree, diploma or work experience within journalism, communications, PR, digital media, marketing, project management or equivalent.
- Several years of industry experience in public relations, public affairs, publicity, internal communications roles.
