Communication Specialist

Sharkmob is a workplace with highly advanced development projects and demanding needs from a wide range of teams. We are looking for a Communication Specialist to handle primarily internal communication and information management tasks. While this position is not yet fully defined it will be focused on supporting the HR and office teams with things like preparing presentations, maintaining intranet sites, organizing studio visits etc. You will be working together with a small multidisciplinary team and report directly to the studio Communications Director.

We are looking for a candidate with some previous experience in a role like this. As this is in many ways a support function to other departments and people within the studio you need to be service minded and always have an eye on the big picture. The right candidate has both feet firmly on the ground, a “can do” attitude and a humble approach to the job. You are a cooperative and understanding person that thrives in a fluid environment where no two days might look the same. Flexibility and responsibility is key. As a person you are organized, thorough and able to run multiple projects in parallel – still committed to seeing them all through.

Our current projects are still unannounced which means we can't say or show much about what we are working on to the public. What we can say however is that we are using the Unreal engine, we are looking at multi-platform projects, they are action focused and the graphics are realistic in style and tone. The games we typically produce are online, social experiences with AAA production value.

Your skills and experience:

  • 3+ years experience in the communication field
  • Track record of providing support and service to other departments and functions
  • Fluent in English
  • Very competent with Office Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience from working with content management systems / publishing tools and intranet platforms

  • Fluent in Swedish
  • Experience with Confluence
  • Interested in videogames and popular culture

Perks & Benefits

Working for a Swedish company comes with its own set of perks, by default. In a country that consistently ranks among the best in terms of quality of life and happiness it comes as no surprise that the work-force is quite well taken care of – you are for example entitled to 480 days of parental leave per family, healthcare and schools are covered by your taxes, we fika frequently and the work-life balance favors the employees. We value, and love, all of that!

So bring your creativity, passion and love for games; we will see to it that you are well taken care of!

  • Six weeks vacation

We work in an industry where the pace can be high and demands taxing. Given this, we want to make sure everyone can get the time off they need to relax, which is why we offer six weeks paid vacation.

  • Do your own thing

According to some employees the biggest benefit is the option to freely develop your own side-projects outside of your work at the studio. In a creative industry, we’d be crazy to limit the teams creativity – so we don’t.

  • Pension

There are of course pension benefits, so you are well taken care of years from now when you look back with fondness on your game development career.

  • Flexible office hours

We all have different needs and preferences on how we plan our working day. To facilitate this we have core office hours between 10 and 16, where everybody must be present. It is up to the individual how they distribute the remaining time of their eight hour work day.

  • Social events

The studio often sponsors after-work events, cinema visits and other socials too in order to bring the team closer together.
