Sharkmob is growing and has opened a new studio in central London called Sharkmob London Ltd. As part of a journey that started in Sweden in 2017, Sharkmob London will take AAA, hardcore multiplayer games to places nobody has gone before.

The UK studio is led by a core team of local industry veterans operating as a fully integrated part of Sharkmob, with backing from Tencent Games. Sharkmob is currently working on three different projects, one of which is a proprietary IP that will be developed in London.

As part of our new studio, we are looking for a Technical Director to build and lead a world class engineering team. We are looking for someone with broad technical capabilities and experience leading developers across gameplay, online, physics, rendering and tools on open-world online games. You are ideally comfortable getting hands-on with code, but passionate about building and leading a large development team.

The studio is currently in its founding stages, so this is a highly unique opportunity to be a part of a great adventure and to shape your own team, processes, and technology as part of a new studio.

  • Confident manager, coach and mentor
  • An eye for quality implementation when it comes to both code and gameplay
  • Experience building engineering teams from the ground-up
  • Comfortable getting hands-on with code, particularly at the prototype stages of development
  • Fluent with the Unreal engine, with a good understanding of its limitations and possible workarounds for online and open-world game development
