ANIMATION
Animation helps games come alive. It makes the gameplay and actions of characters believable, a cornerstone for the immersive world of any game. Our animators and animation programmers push boundaries with new technologies and innovative solutions to provide world-class animation experiences through things like keyframe animation and gameplay animation. They work closely with other teams throughout the development process, such as character artists and game designers, to understand and meet a project’s animation needs. This often requires finding creative solutions to animation problems and striving to ensure many different moving parts are in line with the overall vision of a game.
MOTION CAPTURE
Motion capture (AKA mocap) is essential to the animation of a modern game. It’s especially true at Sharkmob, where we have our very own mocap studio! Our animation team handles the core of any virtual production for a project — including mocap staging, tracking stunts and acting, and facial capture. They work with the latest motion capture technology and software, like Vicon’s Vantage cameras and Shogun processing tools, Faceware, Virtual Camera, Xsens, and Apple’s ARkit.
We look for candidates to join our animation team who are strong communicators that can work on their own but also collaborate with other teams. They should be able to work in Unreal Engine 5, as well as graphic and animation software, like MotionBuilder and Maya, and motion capture systems like Vicon and Faceware.
